Products that are tested and certified
The National Construction Code (NCC) provides the minimum necessary requirements for safety, health, amenity and sustainability in the design, construction and performance of new buildings, including new building work in existing buildings.
GWE’s products are tested and certified in accordance with:
a) AS2699.1:2020 – Built in components for masonry construction, Part 1: Wall ties
b) AS3700:2018 – Masonry Structures
Durability
As per requirement from AS/NZS 2699.1:2000, all wall ties are required to be tested and classified in terms of durability classification of R0, R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5.
These durability classifications details the type of coating material and its coating mass that is required in the manufacturing of wall ties. Below shows durability classification of masonry wall ties as manufactured by GWE.
R2 rating: Components produced from a Z600 galvanised coil complying with AS1397:2021
R3 rating: Masonry wall ties galvanised after manufacture from bare steel sheet and complying with AS/NZS 4680 except that the coating mass shall be at least 470g/m2 on each side.
R4 rating: Components produced from 316 grade stainless steel sheet complying with AS1449.
